Is The Breville JE98XL The Best Countertop Juicer?
The term “countertop juicer” is relatively new, but the concept is not. A juicer that you can fit on your countertop at all times, without it taking up much space is ideal. This machine is small, but do not let its size confuse you. Bigger is not always better. How does the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor stack up?
The power is the first thing that jumps out at you. Other juicers in its class, such as the Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer, do not have the power that this model does. In fact, Jack Lalanne does not list the amount of watts that their juicer has. Instead they rely on the RPM’s. This Breville machine can go up to 12,000 RPM’s, whearas the Jack Lalanne PJP only goes up to 3,600 RPM’s. With a centrifugal juicer, you want it to spin fast. The JE98XL can go fast and slow. For leafy greens, you can set the speed to 6,500 RPM’s. Then, if you need some raw power to blast through some hard fruits or vegetables, you can turn it up to 12,000 RPM’s.
Self Ejecting Pulp
Do you like to cut up all of your fruits and vegetables and then juice all of them in one go? If so, you need a self-ejecting juicer. This model has a large capacity container that will hold enough pulp for you to juice up a lot of produce in one go.
3 Inch Wide Feeder Chute
Do you want to spend you time cutting produce or juicing? The feeder chute comes in at 3 inches, so you can fit large pieces into it. Combine that with a large external pulp container, and this juice extractor will save you a lot of time. Compare that with a Jack Lalanne model (its competitor), and you will see the difference. Jack’s juicers hold in the pulp and usually do not have a large feeder chute. That is why you will save time with the Breville Juicer.
1 Liter Juice Jug
This juicer is perfect for one to two people. With the 1 liter jug, you can quickly fill it up with organic juice. Most of the old style of centrifugal juicers do not come with a 1 liter juice jug, in fact you have to use a small cup or glass to catch the juice.
Breville claims that the Breville JE98XL can turn a whole apple into 8oz of juice in 5 seconds flat! If you want speed, this juice machine is for you!
How Are The Reviews?
Reviews for the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor are not mixed at all. This machine scores 4.6 out of 5 stars! Users find that it is the best in call centrifugal juicer in its price range. If you shop around, you can find it as low as $115.00. As we pointed out above, its is competing with Jack Lalanne’s juice extractors. Some users had Jack Lalanne’s juicers before they switched to the Breville JE98XL.
Some users were not happy with this Breville juicer. They thought that the pulp was too moist and it contained to much juice. Some users had their juicers die on them way to early. Some users were not happy with Breville’s support, as they took too long to respond to their support tickets.
What Do We Think?
If you are looking for a daily juicer or one that you will use occasionally, this model will work for you. It has a great price, and most users (90% plus) are very happy with it. It is a centrifugal juicer, so you are going to leave some “juice on the table.” If you want a juicer that leaves very dry pulp, then you should look to get a masticating juicer. Compared to other juicers in its class, it is a buy!
