The power is the first thing that jumps out at you. Other juicers in its class, such as the Jack Lalanne PJP Power Juicer Pro Stainless-Steel Electric Juicer, do not have the power that this model does. In fact, Jack Lalanne does not list the amount of watts that their juicer has. Instead they rely on the RPM’s. This Breville machine can go up to 12,000 RPM’s, whearas the Jack Lalanne PJP only goes up to 3,600 RPM’s. With a centrifugal juicer, you want it to spin fast. The JE98XL can go fast and slow. For leafy greens, you can set the speed to 6,500 RPM’s.  Then, if you need some raw power to blast through some hard fruits or vegetables, you can turn it up to 12,000 RPM’s.

Self Ejecting Pulp

Do you like to cut up all of your fruits and vegetables and then juice all of them in one go? If so, you need a self-ejecting juicer. This model has a large capacity container that will hold enough pulp for you to juice up a lot of produce in one go.

3 Inch Wide Feeder Chute

Do you want to spend you time cutting produce or juicing? The feeder chute comes in at 3 inches, so you can fit large pieces into it. As we pointed out above, its is competing with Jack Lalanne’s juice extractors. Some users had Jack Lalanne’s juicers before they switched to the Breville JE98XL.

We are not a big fan of centrifugal juicers, as they tend to heat up the juice and destroy some of the nutrition. They also create a lot of foam in the process. If you are looking for a juicer that you can use 3 times a day for 7 days a week, this juicer is not for you. I would get a different model that is made to handle that kind of juicing. I would look at a Twin-Gear juicer or some of the high-end Masticating juicers.

Reviews are not mixed at all on the Breville Juice and Blend. The only complaint I can find is the price. I would have to agree with anyone who complains about it. It is expensive, and often you get what you pay for. I certainly have purchased some juicers that were not worth the money I paid for them. You can pick up similar juicers for 1/2 of the price of this model, but the quality of the competitors is not going to be the same. When it comes to juicing, your health is more important than anything else. That is why I would always buy the best when buying a juicer.
